Our carrot cake is a delightful tribute to the humble origins of this beloved dessert. Dating back to mediaeval times, when sugar was scarce, bakers turned to carrots for their natural sweetness and moisture. Inspired by tradition, Sophia crafted a moist, spiced cake filled with freshly grated carrots and a hint of warm cinnamon. Topped with a grated carrot jam, each slice is a celebration of flavour and history. The recipe is one Sophia developed in the early 80s for her cake business servicing some of Sydney’s premium restaurants and is our only non-gluten free product.
